The Product Application & Approval Process


Vendors submit applications via Whole Foods Market Northern California's Vendor Product Submission (VPS) system. In addition, buyers can proactively ask vendors to submit an application online after seeing a product in the field or during a presentation meeting.

Once an online application has been submitted, three things can happen: 

  • Buyers can deny an application based on the information provided before seeing samples.
  • Buyers can request samples and additional information, but reject the application if the samples or information are not received within the specified timeframe.
  • After reviewing samples and additional information, buyers can accept or reject the product.
